Marc Brédif is one of the most iconic names in the Loire Valley, with a legacy dating back to 1893. Known for its traditional values and exceptional terroir expression, the house is particularly renowned for its Vouvray wines. Their Méthode Traditionnelle Brut is crafted using the same labor-intensive process as Champagne, with second fermentation in the bottle and extended lees aging — offering remarkable finesse and value.

Tasting Notes:

A refined and elegant sparkling wine with fine, persistent bubbles and a golden hue. The nose opens with aromas of crisp green apple, acacia blossom, and white peach, layered with hints of toasted brioche and subtle honeyed notes — a hallmark of aged Chenin Blanc. The palate is vibrant and dry, with a fresh citrusy core, creamy texture, and a long, mineral finish that lingers beautifully.

Food Pairing:

This is a remarkably versatile sparkling wine. Pair it with:

  • Oysters or shellfish – its bright acidity cuts through the richness perfectly.
  • Goat cheese (especially Crottin de Chavignol or Sainte-Maure de Touraine).
  • Asian cuisine – think tempura, sushi, or Thai fishcakes.
  • Roast chicken or turkey – particularly lovely with festive fare.
  • Also ideal as a sophisticated aperitif or with canapés and celebrations.

Serving Suggestion:

Serve well-chilled, ideally between 6–8°C. Best enjoyed in a white wine glass rather than a flute to allow the wine to open up and reveal its full aromatic complexity.
