A super-premium quality, rare and powerful Bolgheri Bianco. This is a serious wine for a special occasion (Organic)
Whilst powerful and complex, the wine has an incredible freshness that makes it so easy to drink with delicate dishes such as grilled fish & shellfish
This wine is produced from the oldest Vermentino vineyards in Bolgheri- the oldest of which is 30 years old. Located at 330 metres above sea level, on a natural terrace overlooking the sea and situated on soil characterized by calcareous marl and flysch mixed with clay. The Mediterranean climate and the frequent sea breezes help the organic cultivation of the vineyard and help to preserve the authentic character of the terroir of the Grattamacco hill.
The harvest is strictly done by hand and is conducted in a series of three passes through the vineyard in the month of September to ensure optimal ripeness and only the best berries are chosen. The vinification is carried out ⅔ in barrels and ⅓ in steel. The wine ages for 8 months before bottling with frequent batonnage (stirring of the lees)
This exquisite and rare Vermentino showcases a beautiful straw-yellow hue, releasing a bouquet of white fruits and hints of hazelnut. On the palate, it’s fresh and floral, with a rounded, ripe character. Thoughtful use of oak imparts a refined, creamy texture, enhancing its elegance. With persistent, delicate mineral notes, this Bolgheri Bianco is a superb choice for special occasions.
"Sparkling light gold colour. Elegant, fragrant bouquet of very juicy limes and grapefruit on sea salt, with delicate hints of rosemary and thyme. Mouth-filling and very juicy on electrifying acidity, with a gentle grip and plenty of tension, it lingers on the palate for a long, salty finish." Falstaff
"A serious Vermentino with powerful and complex flavours of peach, apple, almond, sage and shiso leaves. Firm, dry and salty on the long-lasting finish." Wine Spectator
"Restrained orange blossom with white peach, white pepper and broom flowers. The attack is crisp and citrus-accentuated, with a crisp acidity, medium body and a polished finish." James Suckling
The palate is polished and delicately creamy, showing well-integrated use of wood with a salty and pleasant length.
