A super-premium quality & elegant Bolgheri Bianco with fine mineral hints perfect for special occasions (Organic)
This wine is produced from the oldest Vermentino vineyards in Bolgheri- the oldest of which is 30 years old. Located at 330 metres above sea level, on a natural terrace overlooking the sea and situated on soil characterized by calcareous marl and flysch mixed with clay. The Mediterranean climate and the frequent sea breezes help the organic cultivation of the vineyard and help to preserve the authentic character of the terroir of the Grattamacco hill.
The harvest is strictly done by hand and is conducted in a series of three passes through the vineyard in the month of September to ensure optimal ripeness and only the best berries are chosen. The vinification is carried out ⅔ in barrels and ⅓ in steel. The wine ages for 8 months before bottling with frequent batonnage (stirring of the lees)
A white wine of exquisite aromatic complexity and depth. On the palate, Grattamacco Bolgheri Vermentino expresses a saline minerality and rigorous freshness, with a supple and creamy texture and remarkable longevity.
Bright, radiant straw yellow. In the nose of candied lemon and flint, beautiful noble wood, sea salt, discreet white blossom in the aftertaste. A dry & medium-bodied wine with a fresh and admirable texture. Gorgeous notes of baked apple, spiced pear and lemon drops compressed by a touch of attractive French oak. The finish is an exquisite play of maritime saltiness fused with cedar.
The palate is polished and delicately creamy, showing well-integrated use of wood with a salty and pleasant length.
