Since the end of the 18th Century, the family of the Comtes Lafond had the most important and most famous vineyards of Pouilly Fumé.

Baron Patrick de Ladoucette, the great-grandson of Les Comtes Lafond, has continued their tradition of high quality and produces the great white wines of Ladoucette.

Their attention to detail is second to none, and this Pouilly Fumé is an incredible introduction to their world renowned Sauvignon Blanc.

The grapes are destemmed before pressing, which is entirely gravity-fed, preventing any harshness or stalkiness. This gentle method yields 80% free-run juice. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 60°F, lasting six to eight weeks. Following fermentation, the wine matures for three to six months on natural lees with regular stirring. Blending takes place seven to eight months after harvest, and the wine is then stored in glass-tiled tanks. To maintain the Sauvignon Blanc grape's freshness and full flavor, no wood is used during vinification.

Tasting Note:

The delicate and complex aromatic profile begins with notes of white flowers and exotic fruits. The late-season sun has contributed significantly to the vintage's aromatic depth, resulting in an impressive complexity. This complexity translates into an elegant richness. The wine presents a bright and direct initial impression, unfolding gracefully with fruity notes complemented by a dense structure and vibrant acidity, leading to a long, satisfying finish. Aromas of lychee and mango are particularly prominent.

100% Sauvignon Blanc with no use of oak, but is left on the lees for added complexity.

Soil Composition: Clay and limestone (Kimmeridgian marnes on fossilized limestone)
