A top quality bordeaux that is must-have for any avid collector's cellar!
This grand Pauillac property delivers awesome flavours in 2015. You can't help but enjoy this magnificently ripe, sturdy, smoky claret. It has the cedary Pauillac characteristic. The tannins are pleasingly silky, and there is tremendous balance. Creamy blackberries and a precise shape, lead to a fruit-dominant finish hat tingles in the mouth. It needs some bottle age, but it follows the tradition of great wine from this leading estate. It's rich and powerful, but elegant and sweet.
The 2015 vintage of Chateau Pontet Canet is an excellent example of a classic Bordeaux blend. This wine was crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grapes grown on the estate's vineyards laid out in the Pauillac appellation. The blend is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months before bottling.
This vintage has a deep ruby color with aromas of blackberry, cassis and spice. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied with flavors of ripe red fruits and sweet spices. The tannins are well integrated, provding structure and balance to the long finish.
Pontet Canet is an historic estate that dates back to 1720 when Pierre de Pontet purchased lands in the Pauillac commune to create vineyards. In 1855, Chateau Pontet Canet was ranked as Fifth Growth by the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification and since then has become an extremely popular brand amongst the ‘Super Seconds'. The estate consistently produces wines of outstanding quality that are highly sought afer by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
The 2015 vintage has already been praised by critics for its remarkable quality and it will only continue to improve over time as it ages gracefully in bottle. It is a great example of how a classic Bordeaux blend should taste like, offering great complexity combined with finesse and elegance – making it a must-have for any avid collector's cellar!
Deeply colored, initially you notice Cuban cigars, eucalyptus, coffee bean, flowers, blackberries, and cassis. On the palate, the wine is rich, plush, and polished with an opulence to the texture. The fruit is packed and stacked with wave after wave of mouth-coating fruits that paint every nook and cranny of your palate. There is fabulous sweetness, lift, and depth. There is no touch of heat. Even with all of this power, the wine is balanced. Completely effortless to drink, this is already sublime in your glass. But, give it a few more years in the cellar and it is only going to get better and better. An interesting point, 2015 marks the first vintage without a second wine, allowing you to experience the totality of what the entire 81-hectare vineyard produced.
Succulent fruits, rich tannins and juicy acidity are in perfect harmony in this wine produced from biodynamic grapes. It has a rich, velvet texture and dense structure, sumptuous and already balanced and delicious. However do not be fooled, this is a serious wine for aging.
Will continue to age gracefully for years to come
