From an exceptional vintage, Château l'Enclos 2020 is a wine of remarkable aromatic intensity and impeccable balance. Its deep purple hue, nearly opaque, shimmers with violet reflections—hinting at the concentration and depth within.

Denise and Stephen Adams, owners of Ch. Fonplégade (a Saint-Émilion grand cru classé) and a vineyard in Napa Valley (Adamvs), bought Ch. l'Enclos in 2007: 9.5 ha divided into 38 plots on the western slope of the plateau, between Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Certified organic since 2017, the vineyard is managed according to the principles of biodynamics.

A Captivating Bouquet

The nose is instantly alluring, unveiling layers of ripe black fruits—blackberry, blackcurrant, and black cherry—interwoven with hints of spice, truffle, dark chocolate, and a touch of minerality, a hallmark of Pomerol’s clay-gravel terroir. Careful oak aging enhances its complexity, introducing subtle vanilla and cedar notes.

Silky, Balanced, and Profound

On the palate, Château l'Enclos 2020 delivers an elegant structure, supported by fine, silky tannins. The interplay between lively acidity and rich fruit creates a velvety, seamless texture, leading to a long, lingering finish. Black fruit and spice notes resonate, underscored by a refined minerality that adds depth and sophistication—a truly distinguished expression of Pomerol at its finest.

Young vintages such as this 2020 can be decanted for 2 hours or longer. This allows the wine to soften and open its perfume.

Chateau L'Enclos is best served at 15.5 degrees Celsius, 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The cool, almost cellar temperature gives the wine more freshness and lift.
