There's Chablis and there's Chablis, and the 'Grand Régnard' has long been recognized as one of the best
When Patrick De Ladoucette took over the property, he realised the potential and set out to create the very first 'reserve Chablis' sourced and blended from the very best of their 7 Grand Cru's and 5 Premier Cru vineyards.
Could we say he took the cream of the crop?
Of course, we should not forget the legendary Chablis of Raveaneau & Dauvissat, but Régnard is up there at the very top with these two.
Easily spotted in luxury places in the Cote D'Azur from the bulb-shaped bottle that is modeled after an old 17th century bottle, this Chablis is fresh, elegant and stylish. Similar to a house-style Champagne, the chardonnay grapes are slowly fermented in stainless steel vats that are regulated to a temperature of 18°C. The oenologist (winemaker) then decides when to blend the wine used to create this world-famous cuvée . The wine is then clarified before being bottled.
Having chosen parcels of land in Chablis for their excellent position and with 30 year old plus vines, this cuvée produces each year, in a limited quantity, a beautifully fruity, round and elegant wine typical of a young Chablis.
Variety: 100% Chardonnay
A yellow color with green highlights. A fruity bouquet both expressive and reminiscent of white fruit (peaches) supported with mineral notes. The palate is fresh and superbly balanced between fat and acidity. The finish is mineral and gourmand.
Whilst already perfect to drink now, this wine will remain fresh and improve in the bottle over the next 5 years till 2030
